About the role
Cognism is hiring an Account Manager focused on the mid-market segment to manage and grow relationships with existing clients in London and surrounding areas. This role centers on ensuring customer satisfaction, driving account expansion, and maintaining strong communication channels between clients and internal teams. The Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, working to understand each client's evolving needs and aligning Cognism's solutions accordingly. The position requires a proactive approach to nurturing long-term partnerships while identifying opportunities to increase product adoption and revenue within the existing customer base. Success in this role depends on building trust with stakeholders at every level of the client organization and translating business objectives into actionable plans that deliver measurable results. The Account Manager will also contribute to the broader team's goals by sharing best practices and participating in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving the overall client experience.
Key facts
What you'll do
Manage a portfolio of mid-market accounts, ensuring each client achieves their desired outcomes using Cognism's products and services.
Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess usage, identify gaps, and recommend additional features or upgrades.
Collaborate with the sales team to identify expansion opportunities and upsell relevant products within existing accounts.
Serve as the main liaison between clients and internal departments such as product, support, and engineering.
Develop and maintain detailed account plans that outline goals, strategies, and timelines for each assigned client.
Monitor account health metrics and flag at-risk accounts to the leadership team with proposed retention strategies.
Coordinate onboarding and training sessions for new and existing clients to maximize product adoption and value realization.
Gather client feedback and relay insights to product and marketing teams to inform future development and messaging.
Build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders at each client organization, including decision-makers and end users.
Track and report on key performance indicators such as renewal rates, net revenue retention, and customer satisfaction scores.
Requirements
Proven experience in account management, customer success, or a related role within a B2B SaaS environment.
Strong understanding of mid-market sales cycles and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and follow-through.
Comfortable using CRM platforms and sales intelligence tools to track progress and manage pipeline activities.
Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and the ability to work independently while remaining aligned with team objectives.
A degree or equivalent qualification in business, marketing, or a related field is typically expected.
Previous experience managing accounts with annual contract values in the mid-market revenue bracket.

Familiarity with GDPR and data privacy regulations relevant to B2B technology companies operating in Europe.
Background in consulting, enterprise sales, or solutions consulting that provides a strong commercial foundation.

Skills & tools
Proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot for tracking account activities and managing pipelines.
Experience with sales intelligence platforms like Cognism or similar tools used for prospecting and account research.
Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
Ability to use collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams for day-to-day client communication.
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to present account insights and performance metrics.
Knowledge of contract management and renewal processes, including familiarity with subscription-based pricing models.
Practical notes
This role is based in Cognism's London office and requires regular in-person attendance during standard business hours, typically Monday through Friday.
The Account Manager will report to the Mid-Market Sales Lead and participate in weekly team meetings and quarterly business reviews with senior leadership.
Candidates should expect to manage a caseload of approximately 30 to 50 active accounts, with a balanced mix of renewal and expansion responsibilities throughout the year.
The hiring process includes a phone screening, a take-home case study, and two rounds of interviews with the hiring manager and cross-functional team members.
