About the role
Coalition, Inc. is seeking a Complex Claims Specialist to join their team based in the United Kingdom. This role focuses on managing and resolving high-complexity insurance claims that arise from cyber incidents and security breaches affecting policyholders across the region. The specialist will work closely with policyholders, internal underwriting teams, and external partners to ensure thorough and fair claim outcomes for every case. What you'll do
- Investigate and evaluate complex cyber insurance claims from initial filing through final resolution
- Assess the severity and scope of security incidents reported by policyholders across the UK
- Coordinate with internal underwriting and technical teams to determine claim validity and coverage
- Document all findings and maintain detailed records of claim investigations and decisions
- Communicate regularly with claimants to gather additional information and provide status updates
- Identify patterns in claim data to support risk assessment and fraud detection efforts
- Collaborate with external forensic investigators and legal counsel when claims require specialized expertise
- Ensure all claims are processed in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and third-party vendors involved in the claims process
- Escalate high-priority or unusually complex claims to senior management for additional review
- Review policy terms and conditions to determine appropriate coverage levels for each submitted claim
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights to improve overall claims processing efficiency
- Maintain awareness of emerging cyber threats and industry trends that may influence claim outcomes
- Support the training and development of junior team members through knowledge sharing and mentorship
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in insurance claims handling or a closely related field
- Strong understanding of cyber insurance policies, coverage terms, exclusions, and standard claims procedures
- Ability to analyze technical security reports and translate complex findings into clear, actionable claim decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, record-keeping, and claim file management
- Experience working within a regulated industry or compliance-driven environment with strict procedural requirements
- Proficiency in using claims management systems and related software platforms for daily workflow
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the United Kingdom for in-person meetings or on-site visits
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and their impact on insurance claim handling procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during urgent claims
- Familiarity with incident response frameworks and the ability to assess technical evidence effectively
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple claims simultaneously without sacrificing quality
