About the role
Bamboohr is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to oversee safety protocols and compliance within our Aviation and Infrastructure divisions across Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and Delaware. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all safety measures align with industry standards and regulations, thereby fostering a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in safety management, particularly in aviation and infrastructure projects, and will be responsible for implementing effective safety programs and training initiatives.

What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management systems tailored to aviation and infrastructure projects.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to create and enforce safety policies that minimize risks and enhance workplace safety.
- Lead safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and stakeholders to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including reports, incident logs, and safety manuals, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accessible.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns, providing expert guidance and support to team members.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in safety management, integrating new knowledge into existing safety programs.
- Facilitate communication between various departments to ensure a cohesive approach to safety across all projects.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and report findings to senior management, recommending improvements as necessary.
- Participate in safety committees and contribute to the development of organizational safety goals and objectives.
- Assist in the preparation of safety budgets and resource allocation for safety initiatives and training programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, specifically within the aviation or infrastructure sectors.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful safety programs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in safety management software and tools for tracking safety performance and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong leadership qualities.
- Willingness to travel within the designated regions (PA, MD, NJ, DE) as required.

Practical notes
