Healthcare Field Operations Specialist
Job description
About the role
This role executes medical record retrieval in the field and designs operations to support scalable expansion. It builds provider partnerships across New Jersey while testing methods that improve outcomes and efficiency. The position combines hands-on execution with the creation of repeatable models for future growth. You will own the end-to-end workflow of retrieving medical records through coordinated field activities, ensuring provider offices receive necessary information in a timely manner. You will act as the primary liaison between Clover Health and provider networks, establishing and maintaining trusted relationships that facilitate smooth operations. Typical interview steps
Care sector interviews usually include scenario questions, a values conversation, and checks of registration or qualifications. Candidates may be asked how they would handle a difficult case or manage risk. Empathy, boundaries, and clear communication are assessed. Interviewers often ask how you balance care with boundaries and risk. Reflecting on real cases you have handled, with the outcome, is the strongest preparation.
Good to know
The role focuses on operations in a healthcare setting and relies on strong process thinking. Common tools include EHR systems and standard medical records workflows. Success depends on relationship-building, experimentation, and scaling repeatable models.
Questions to ask
Useful questions for the interview: what a typical week looks like, how work is assigned, what tools the team uses, and how feedback works. Asking how the role has changed recently and what the team wishes it had known when joining is also reasonable. Questions about the manager's priorities are especially valued.
Career growth
Careers in healthcare and social work grow through senior practitioner, team lead, and manager roles. Registration and continuous learning are required in many countries. Specialization is common, from mental health to children's services. Care careers reward reliability and reflective practice. Many senior practitioners move into supervision, training, or service leadership over time.
