The is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's revenue recognition in strict accordance with US GAAP and internal policy frameworks. This position leverages deep expertise to oversee token-based usage accounting and the recognition of evolving AI-driven revenue streams with precision. The role acts as a strategic advisor to business partners, translating complex accounting principles into actionable insights that support informed decision-making. You will own the implementation of AI-driven automation tools to enhance the efficiency and scalability of close activities and financial processes. This includes applying a "clean sheet" approach to evaluate and redesign operational workflows using advanced technology. The position requires constant vigilance to remain current with the latest developments in financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements. You will mentor junior team members and communicate findings to senior management in a clear and timely manner. Ultimately, you will present solutions that consider global impacts and help establish consistent policies across regions.

What you'll do
- Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline close processes, including flux analysis automation, enhancing reconciliations, and automating large datasets to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams such as legal and sales to interpret, research, discuss, and process complex deal reviews and transactions.
- Complete the accounting of executed customer contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are accurately reflected in the financial records.
- Prepare and review journal entries with attention to detail and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and review reconciliations and related financial analysis for both management reporting and external regulatory requirements.
- Participate actively in company-wide AI-driven initiatives and cross-functional projects that directly impact or relate to the revenue accounting area, particularly increasing the revenue analytical capabilities of the organization.
- Proactively identify opportunities and implement AI-driven automation solutions to transform revenue accounting workflows, prioritizing process efficiency, scalability, and the reduction of manual effort to drive operational excellence.
- Adopt a "clean sheet" methodology to evaluate existing operational processes, specifically leveraging generative AI and advanced automation tools to streamline complex tasks and enhance overall accuracy and reliability.
- Stay current on the latest financial accounting and reporting developments and US GAAP reporting requirements to ensure compliance and relevance of practices.
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to junior members of the team to foster professional growth and maintain high standards of performance.
- Communicate any problems or risks to senior management in a timely manner to facilitate prompt resolution and decision-making.
- Present findings and solutions to the management team, while considering global impacts and providing subsequent guidance to influence other regions to adopt consistent processes and policies.
- Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of revenue accounting operations.
- Prepare schedules in support of the external audit process while also utilizing AI capabilities to streamline workbooks and improve audit readiness.
- Coordinate with external auditors on accounting issues and audit-related queries to ensure smooth and compliant audit cycles.
- Review and maintain internal controls as the business environment changes due to process, system, and policy enhancements, including conducting risk assessments and reviewing risk areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficient knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and revenue recognition standards.
- Demonstrated experience with revenue accounting in a SaaS or technology environment, including familiarity with token-based usage models.
- Strong understanding of accounting systems and the ability to adapt to evolving AI-related revenue streams and automation tools.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present information to senior management.

Practical notes
This is a full-time role. The position is based in a hybrid work environment. Travel is not required. Visa sponsorship may be considered for eligible candidates.
