Operations Associate
Job description
Operations Associate at Claim Health.
About the role
Operational workflows are redesigned to convert real-world complexity into repeatable processes. This role manages implementation and support for customer onboarding, claims-related workflows, and ongoing assistance.
Software engineers turn product ideas into working code. Engineers work in small teams, review each other's work, and ship in small batches. Most teams follow agile practices such as sprints and daily standups. Engineers also write tests, fix bugs, and improve performance. The field values clear communication as much as technical skill. Engineers spend part of every week on planning, code review, and debugging, not just writing new code. The ability to explain a technical decision in plain words separates strong engineers from the rest.
Key facts
What you'll do
Process documentation is created to clarify procedures and standardize work. SOPs, playbooks, and internal tooling are produced by the team.
Operational workflows are redesigned to turn real-world complexity into scalable, repeatable processes for the team.
Bottlenecks are uncovered through cross-functional collaboration. Efficiency and reliability improve as intake moves toward resolution.
Metrics are defined, tracked, and reported by the team. Implementation timelines, workflow throughput, and issue resolution guide how success is measured.
Insights that inform product and operational decisions for stakeholders are produced from data. Dashboards and lightweight analyses translate information into actionable understanding.
Platform operations stay predictable as the platform scales. Trends are surfaced, risks are highlighted, and priorities for improvements are set using data.
Effective use of the platform is ensured through direct engagement.
Day-to-day operational partnership with customers coordinates work across internal teams. Schedules are kept on track through issue resolution and implementation support.
Feedback from real users drives enhancements that respond to observed requirements. Actionable operational or product changes are derived from collected feedback.
Deployment reliability and clarity are maintained throughout this support.
Product and engineering teams are partnered with closely. Smooth operation in live environments is ensured as new features and workflows are operationalized.
Communication between customers and internal teams stays aligned. Friction is reduced as execution is coordinated through this role.
Requirements
The posting states a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Experience in management consulting, operations, or strategy roles, or in product operations at an early-stage startup is expected. This background ensures familiarity with fast-paced execution.
Process-building instincts push the creation of structure where none exists, even when problems are loosely defined.
An analytical mindset helps define and manage key metrics that reflect operational health and customer success.
Ownership of outcomes end-to-end, from initial contact through resolution and follow-up, is required for direct customer experience.
Written and verbal communication explains complex operational steps to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and conciseness.
Thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities shift and problems require quick decisions is necessary.
A high ownership mentality and bias toward action ensure initiative is taken when systems or processes block progress.
Nice to have
Experience with healthcare operations, claims, billing, or revenue cycle workflows is considered.
Experience supporting SaaS onboarding or implementations is evaluated.
Comfort working with data and tools such as SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, or internal dashboards is assessed.
Coding experience (e.g., Python, SQL, scripting) and/or a Computer Science degree is reviewed.
Experience working closely with product and engineering teams is valued.
Practical notes
This role requires in-person work in New York City on a full-time basis. You must hold authorization to work in the United States.
Good to know
Roles focused on operations often use general-purpose tools for data, documentation, and communication.
Analytical work in startups depends on clear metrics, cross-functional alignment, and fast feedback loops.
Problem-solving in early-stage environments usually involves ambiguity, ownership, and direct collaboration with product and engineering teams.
