About the role
Checkr is on the lookout for a Senior Staff Software Engineer who will play a pivotal role in defining the architecture of our essential systems while spearheading significant initiatives that span multiple departments. This role involves leading the platform's global expansion and contributing to the development of an Enterprise Architecture. You will collaborate closely with the entire Research and Development team to grasp domain models and customer requirements, ensuring that our product is API-first and capable of scaling effectively.

Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related discipline is required.
- At least 15 years of experience in software engineering, showcasing a deep understanding of the field.
- A minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity, demonstrating the ability to guide teams effectively.
- Over 2 years of experience leading architectural projects across the organization, showcasing strategic thinking.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, GoLang, and Python is essential.
- Strong grasp of cloud technologies and the various layers of backend stacks is necessary.
- Extensive knowledge of microservices architecture and asynchronous queueing patterns is required.
- Proven experience in designing and managing real-time and batch data pipelines that handle billions of data points.
- A history of mentoring engineering and product teams in domain-driven design principles is highly valued.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Excellent communication, project management, and collaboration skills are crucial.
- A strong sense of ownership and a desire to continuously learn and improve are essential traits.

- Experience with container orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes or Docker.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
