Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack
Job description
About the role
You will architect and deliver agentic AI workflows that power next-generation healthcare decision support systems. This role demands technical fearlessness as you own the full lifecycle of complex features from conception to production deployment. You will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for designing robust agentic systems using advanced frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph. You will drive engineering excellence and actively champion a culture of quality, innovation, and operational effectiveness across the team. Your work will directly influence how healthcare organizations create and embrace transformative strategies that make care more affordable, accessible, safe, and human. You will partner daily with agile teams to solve intricate, cross-functional challenges that span clinical data, payor systems, and provider platforms.
Key facts
What you'll do
Design and build scalable back-end services and front-end solutions using languages and frameworks such as Python, Node.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Define and maintain reliable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices on Azure or Google Cloud to support healthcare data platforms.
Lead deployment of Large Language Models (LLMs) at scale, ensuring reliability, performance, and adherence to responsible AI safety practices in regulated environments.
Develop and maintain robust AI evaluation frameworks that measure real-world performance and drive measurable outcomes in healthcare delivery and operations.
Champion best practices for observability, availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency across distributed systems that serve critical healthcare workflows.
Develop indexing and retrieval strategies across diverse healthcare data sources, including document repositories, FHIR-based clinical datasets, and payor/provider data.
Build solutions with a DevOps mindset, seeking to automate integration and deployment so features can scale effectively, securely, and reliably in production.
Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines are in place for automated deployment, testing, and continuous quality assurance across the software lifecycle.
Partner effectively across multiple teams and with Product and UX stakeholders to ensure platform decisions reflect business requirements and compliance needs.
Mentor other engineers through code reviews, design documentation, and post-mortems to foster a culture of continuous technical growth and knowledge sharing.
Maintain a voracious appetite for current technology trends, continuously bringing relevant innovations to the team to address evolving healthcare challenges.
Demonstrate excellent judgment in selecting methods for developing solutions that are robust, reliable, testable, maintainable, and aligned with strict healthcare data standards.
Lead the technical direction of products through roadmaps and design reviews, translating complex engineering tradeoffs into clear business risk and impact for non-technical stakeholders.
Contribute to the strategy and ongoing maintenance of AI infrastructure, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and organizational risk tolerance in healthcare contexts.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related scientific/engineering field.
Master's degree preferred.
5+ years of relevant industry experience shipping world-class products as part of a highly functional software development team.
Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining AI infrastructure and agentic workflows utilizing frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK, or similar.
Familiarity with deploying AI PaaS solutions such as Azure AI Foundry or Vertex AI is a plus.
Extensive hands-on experience in full-stack software development with proficiency in Python, Node.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Strong understanding of front-end frameworks such as React and Next.js for building responsive user interfaces.
Deep technical proficiency with cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud, including managed AI services, vector/semantic search, and cloud-native deployment patterns.
Strong understanding of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and containerized workloads (Kubernetes) with demonstrated experience supporting production systems.
Proven ability to translate complex technical decisions and engineering constraints into clear communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in a fully remote environment.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make high-quality technical decisions in ambiguous and fast-paced healthcare settings.
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of code quality, testing, and documentation in support of critical healthcare applications.
