What you'll do
- Conduct thorough inspections of renewable energy installations, including wind turbines and solar panels, to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop inspection plans tailored to specific projects and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize advanced inspection techniques and tools, including drones and thermal imaging, to assess the condition of renewable energy assets.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports that document findings, recommendations, and compliance status for stakeholders.
- Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies for identified issues.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to renewable energy inspections.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field teams during the installation and maintenance of renewable energy systems.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior inspection engineers and technicians to enhance team capabilities.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate inspection results and address any concerns regarding project compliance.
- Support the continuous improvement of inspection processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in safety meetings and initiatives to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions that improve inspection accuracy and reduce downtime for renewable energy projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in inspection or quality assurance within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations, including IEC, ISO, and OSHA guidelines.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and technologies, such as ultrasonic testing, visual inspection, and non-destructive testing methods.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical documents and specifications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites, including remote locations, as required.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to pass background checks and safety training.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications in inspection or quality assurance, such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
- Experience with project management software and tools for tracking inspection activities and reporting.
- Familiarity with renewable energy project lifecycle phases, from design to commissioning and operation.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in the renewable energy sector.
- Experience in conducting training sessions or workshops related to inspection techniques and safety practices.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report writing and data analysis.
- Familiarity with inspection software and data management systems for tracking inspection results and compliance.
- Experience with CAD software for reviewing design plans and specifications.
- Strong understanding of data analysis tools and techniques to interpret inspection results effectively.
- Ability to use drones and other advanced technologies for remote inspections and data collection.
