Catface is seeking a talented Cinematographer to join our dynamic team in Austin, Texas. As a Cinematographer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual narrative of our projects, working closely with directors and other team members to bring concepts to life through compelling imagery.

What you'll do
- Collaborate with directors and producers to understand the vision and objectives of each project, ensuring alignment on visual style and storytelling techniques.
- Plan and execute camera setups, lighting designs, and shot compositions that enhance the narrative and engage the audience.
- Operate various camera equipment, including DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and professional cinema cameras, ensuring high-quality footage is captured.
- Manage lighting setups for both indoor and outdoor shoots, utilizing natural and artificial light to create the desired mood and atmosphere.
- Work with the production team to scout locations and assess their suitability for filming, considering factors such as lighting, accessibility, and aesthetic appeal.
- Edit and assemble footage, collaborating with the post-production team to ensure the final product meets the creative vision and technical standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and techniques in cinematography to continuously improve skills and contribute innovative ideas to projects.
- Maintain a professional demeanor on set, managing time effectively to meet deadlines while ensuring a positive and productive working environment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with camera and lighting equipment during shoots, ensuring minimal disruption to the production schedule.
- Develop a strong understanding of the brand's identity and values, ensuring that all visual content aligns with Catface's mission and aesthetic.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative meetings to contribute ideas and insights that enhance project development.
- Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and freelancers, coordinating resources as needed for various projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cinematographer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in various formats, including commercials, short films, and digital content.
- Proficiency in operating a range of camera equipment and understanding of different cinematography techniques and styles.
- Solid knowledge of lighting techniques and the ability to adapt to different shooting environments.
- Familiarity with post-production processes, including video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of creativity and attention to detail.
- A degree in Film, Cinematography, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for location shoots.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for shoots outside of Austin, Texas, as required.
Nice to have
- Experience with drone cinematography and aerial filming techniques.
- Knowledge of color grading and sound design to enhance the overall production quality.
- Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects software, such as After Effects or similar tools.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced agency or production environment.
- A network of industry contacts, including other cinematographers, directors, and production professionals.
