What you'll do

• Own the end-to-end allocation process for medical records related to civil litigation matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance from intake to final delivery.
• Design and implement intake workflows that systematically capture case specifics, medical history, and billing dynamics to support comprehensive analysis.
• Construct allocation models by meticulously interpreting treatment plans, provider notes, and clinical documentation to identify cost drivers.
• Review complex medical documentation to verify logical consistency, ensuring medical timelines align precisely with legal arguments and deposition strategies.
• Translate dense medical data into accessible narratives and formats for clients, attorneys, and decision-makers who require clear insights without medical jargon.
• Collaborate directly with firm attorneys to refine case scenarios, adjust assumptions, and validate theories of recovery or exposure before hearings.
• Partner with regional medical and legal experts to validate methodologies, ensuring that allocation strategies withstand scrutiny during high-stakes negotiations.
• Update narrative frameworks and allocation models dynamically as new records arrive and project parameters shift mid-litigation.
• Guide junior staff and paralegals through structured checklists and quality controls to uphold consistency, accuracy, and firm standards across all active matters.
• Ship analyses on schedule, balancing multiple concurrent tasks while maintaining strict attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines.
• Serve as the primary liaison for medical record vendors and healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies and obtain missing information efficiently.
• Leverage advanced software proficiency to organize data, generate reports, and maintain the integrity of databases used for tracking case expenses.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the allocation methodology by documenting best practices and sharing insights with the litigation team.

Requirements

• Hold a nursing degree or equivalent qualification in a medical field, which is a non-negotiable baseline for this position.
• Bring a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience working in either medical or legal environments.
• Maintain legal residency in at least one of the following states: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, or Tennessee.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks without compromising the accuracy of medical data interpretation.
• Exhibit clear communication skills in both written and verbal formats when interacting with diverse stakeholders, including attorneys, experts, and clients.
• Show proficiency in navigating complex software tools to organize data, validate records, and generate detailed reports.
• Adhere to strict deadlines and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced litigation support environment.
• Ensure compliance with firm policies, legal standards, and confidentiality requirements when handling sensitive medical information.

This is a full-time position based in Birmingham, Alabama. The compensation offered is $75,000.00 per year.
