About the role
Careem is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join their growing team in Amman, Jordan. This role supports the day-to-day coordination of operational activities across the local office and ensures that all internal business processes run efficiently and without interruption. The coordinator will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage logistics, track performance metrics, and address operational challenges as they arise on a daily basis. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

What you'll do
Support daily operational workflows and coordinate tasks across various departments within the Amman office to maintain smooth business continuity.
Monitor and track operational metrics on a regular basis to identify areas for process improvement and overall efficiency gains.
Liaise with field teams and external partners to ensure timely completion of delivery and service-related assignments each day.
Prepare and distribute detailed operational reports, summarizing key performance indicators and trends for management review and decision-making.
Coordinate scheduling and resource allocation across teams to meet daily and weekly operational targets without delay.
Assist in onboarding new team members by preparing training materials, orientation documentation, and introductory guides for the role.
Maintain and update operational databases and spreadsheets, ensuring all records are accurate, complete, and kept current at all times.
Collaborate with the logistics and customer service teams to resolve delivery issues and handle service escalations promptly.
Support the planning and execution of pilot programs for new service areas and expanded operations in the region.
Communicate operational updates and process changes to relevant stakeholders through regular team meetings and written status summaries.
Review and optimize existing operational procedures by gathering feedback from team members and implementing incremental improvements over time.
Coordinate with the finance team to reconcile operational expenses and ensure accurate budget tracking for the department.
Facilitate weekly operational meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items assigned to team members.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field is required for this position.
At least two years of hands-on experience in an operations, coordination, or logistics role is expected.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic languages are necessary.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines consistently is important.
Proficiency with spreadsheet applications and basic data analysis tools for daily reporting purposes is required.
Experience working in a multicultural and diverse team environment is considered essential for success.
Prior familiarity with ride-hailing or delivery platform operations is considered a strong advantage.
Ability to work independently and take initiative when solving complex operational problems is valued.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling operational data and administrative documentation on a daily basis.
Nice to have
Prior experience working with a technology or platform-based company in the Middle East region is highly beneficial.
Knowledge of local regulations and transportation laws applicable to Amman and Jordan is a plus.
Experience using project management software or workflow automation tools for daily operations is valued.
Understanding of data visualization techniques and reporting dashboards for effective management presentations is helpful.
Familiarity with customer service best practices and complaint resolution procedures would be advantageous.
Skills & tools

Basic proficiency in data analysis and spreadsheet modeling techniques for operational reporting.

Knowledge of logistics tracking software and fleet management tools used in delivery operations.
Ability to use project management applications such as Trello or Asana for task coordination.
Experience with database management systems and basic SQL queries is a plus.
Comfort with cloud-based storage solutions and file-sharing platforms for secure document management and team access.
Practical notes
This position is based in the Amman office and requires regular in-person attendance during standard business hours each week.
The role reports directly to the Operations Manager and works within a collaborative team of five to ten colleagues.
Candidates should be prepared to occasionally work extended hours during peak operational periods, special events, or seasonal demand surges.
