Platform Software Engineer
Job description
About the role
You will design and integrate the core telecommunications infrastructure that delivers secure cellular service to our users, ensuring end-to-end data integrity across every layer of the stack. You will own the full lifecycle of foundational components, from problem discovery and requirements gathering through solution delivery, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. You will set and enforce high coding standards by writing guidelines, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team. You will enable scale by building reliable, performant, and scalable systems that allow product teams to ship robust applications without needing deep expertise in telecom infrastructure. You will take ownership of systems that detect and prevent spam and smishing campaigns while identifying and mitigating malicious signaling attacks that threaten user privacy. You will build and maintain the signaling firewall and other security primitives that protect the network from exploitation and abuse. You will implement detection for fake base stations, also known as cell-site simulators, to safeguard our users from unauthorized surveillance. You will design robust APIs and primitives that abstract complexity so other engineers can deliver impactful features quickly and safely. You will work cross-functionally with product, security, and infrastructure teams to solve ambiguous, high-stakes problems that have direct impact on national security, journalists, parents, and everyday users who value privacy.
