What you'll do

• Develop and implement comprehensive security architectures that protect sensitive financial data and comply with relevant regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities within the existing IT infrastructure and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle, ensuring security is a priority from the outset.
• Design and oversee the implementation of security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies.
• Monitor security incidents and respond to breaches or threats, conducting forensic investigations as necessary to determine the extent of any compromise.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and incorporate this knowledge into the organization's security strategy.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior security staff and other team members on best practices in IT security.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and architectures for internal and external audits.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT security, with a focus on architecture and design.
• Proven experience in securing financial systems and understanding of relevant compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, and others.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption methods.
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts and experience securing cloud-based applications and services.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about security challenges.
• Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or similar is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools to integrate security into the development process.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C# for security automation tasks.
• Familiarity with threat modeling and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Previous experience in a startup or fintech environment is advantageous.
