Senior Manager, Strategic Finance, Channel Sales
Job description
About the role
This role defines the financial architecture behind how Square acquires and grows Channel Sales. You will architect the strategic frameworks, unit-level models, and performance narratives that convert complex market dynamics into clear, executable choices for leadership. The position offers direct collaboration with senior Sales executives, rapid mentorship, and deep immersion into high-stakes investment decisions. Location is London, United Kingdom, with remote flexibility across the United Kingdom. Base compensation is 140,000 GBP annually as of 2024.
You will set the financial strategy for Channel Sales, transforming ambiguous acquisition questions into structured options. This includes defining metrics for success and building models that evaluate pricing, incentives, and headcount efficiency. You will guide scenario trade-offs, clarifying the cost and impact of different customer journeys and growth levers. Monthly and quarterly performance reviews will be owned by you, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities within Channel Sales momentum.
Cross-functional collaboration is central. You will work alongside Revenue Operations, Data Science, and Product to turn intricate datasets into coherent narratives and recommendations. Your role demands autonomy in problem definition, analysis structuring, and driving toward outcomes even in fluid, precedent-light situations. You will also mentor teammates in Finance and Strategy, helping elevate planning, measurement, and continuous improvement practices across Block.

- Translate ambiguous business problems into clear strategic frameworks and coordinated action plans.
- Mentor colleagues in Finance and Strategy to improve planning, measurement, and iteration.
- Operate autonomously while coordinating with Revenue Operations, Data Science, and Product.
- Support forecasting and quota-setting processes that align with overarching business goals.
- Champion rigorous financial analysis to evaluate channel profitability and growth potential.
- Challenge existing assumptions by constructing alternative scenarios for go-to-market investments.
- Synthesize insights from cross-functional partners into cohesive narratives for leadership decisions.
- Drive prioritization of initiatives based on measurable impact and strategic alignment.
Requirements
- 8 or more years of experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, with exposure to go-to-market strategy being advantageous.

- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders through crisp storytelling backed by strong data and logical reasoning.
- Experience operating without rigid playbooks, defining problems, and driving outcomes in environments without clear precedent.
- History of leading complex projects with multiple cross-functional partners in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
- Mastery of Excel and Google Sheets, with growing proficiency in SQL and modern AI-assisted analytics tools.
- A deep passion for economic empowerment and building inclusive financial products for Block's customer base.
- Consistent adherence to high standards of integrity, accuracy, and judgment in all analytical work.
