Betterment is seeking a technical leader to design and manage the architecture of our go-to-market systems. You will bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution to ensure our sales, marketing, and customer success platforms function as a unified ecosystem. In this capacity, you will be responsible for aligning technological capabilities with commercial objectives to drive revenue efficiency. You will act as the central architectural authority for all GTM technology initiatives, ensuring coherence and scalability across the portfolio. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying future-state architectures that support aggressive growth targets. You will translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical frameworks and system behaviors. Success in this position will be measured by the stability and adaptability of the systems you steward.

What you'll do
- Architect the end-to-end topology of the corporate go-to-market technology stack, defining target state configurations for sales, marketing, and success platforms.
- Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders in sales, marketing, and operations to convert complex business requirements into detailed system specifications and configuration blueprints.
- Engineer robust integration workflows between disparate third-party applications, enforcing strict standards for data integrity, security, and process orchestration.
- Administer the entire lifecycle of GTM applications, overseeing implementation phases, managing version upgrades, and coordinating ongoing maintenance activities.
- Curate and enforce enterprise-grade standards for system documentation, data governance policies, and security protocols across the entire GTM landscape.
- Diagnose performance constraints and systemic bottlenecks within the marketing and sales technology stack, devising and implementing optimized technical solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between business units and IT, ensuring alignment between strategic initiatives and system capabilities.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and vendor solutions to determine fitness for purpose within the GTM ecosystem, conducting cost-benefit analyses for proposed adoptions.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to system health and user adoption, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional working sessions to map current-state workflows and design future-state processes that eliminate manual overhead and reduce error rates.
Requirements
- Demonstrate proven experience in business systems architecture, with a verifiable track record in a go-to-market or revenue operations context spanning multiple years.
- Exhibit deep understanding of Customer Relationship Management platforms and marketing automation toolsets, including configuration, customization, and administration.
- Show ability to manage complex integrations between disparate software systems, including APIs, middleware, and data synchronization mechanisms.
- Possess strong analytical skills to diagnose system bottlenecks, interpret technical data, and implement effective technical solutions under pressure.
- Bring experience working in fast-paced, regulated financial services environments, navigating compliance requirements and institutional constraints.
- Hold a history of collaborating with cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders without direct authority to achieve shared technical outcomes.
- Provide evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Confirm eligibility to work in the United States and authorization to commute to Betterment's headquarters at 450 West 33rd Street, New York, NY.

- Bring experience with Salesforce and related ecosystem tools, including Commerce Cloud, Marketing Cloud, or integration platforms such as MuleSoft.
- Show background in scaling systems for high-growth fintech companies, handling rapid iteration and evolving business requirements.
- Demonstrate familiarity with data warehousing concepts and business intelligence reporting tools, enabling data-driven decision support.
