What you'll do
- Serve as the first point of contact for patrons visiting the aquatic facilities, greeting them warmly and providing information about programs, schedules, and safety guidelines.
- Monitor pool activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and provide immediate assistance in case of emergencies.
- Assist in the organization and execution of aquatic programs, including swim lessons, water aerobics, and recreational swim sessions.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including pool areas, locker rooms, and equipment, to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to develop and implement engaging community events and activities that promote aquatic fitness and enjoyment.
- Manage the scheduling of swim classes and events, ensuring that all sessions are adequately staffed and equipped.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism, providing solutions and escalating issues as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and equipment usage to support operational efficiency and reporting requirements.
- Assist with the training and onboarding of new staff members, sharing knowledge of best practices in customer service and safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated on industry trends.
- Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the aquatic facilities, encouraging community participation and engagement.
- Support administrative tasks related to the operation of the aquatic center, including inventory management and supply ordering.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in recreation management, sports administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a recreational or aquatic setting.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications are required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe upon hire.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of aquatic safety standards and emergency procedures.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Nice to have
- Experience in leading or instructing aquatic programs, such as swim lessons or water fitness classes.
- Familiarity with facility management software and scheduling tools.
