The role requires you to own the full lifecycle of high-impact features, from initial discovery and technical design through to production deployment and ongoing optimization. You will serve as a critical technical partner for our largest brand and retail clients, diagnosing intricate issues and delivering reliable, scalable fixes under tight deadlines. This position demands deep collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous business requirements into concrete, testable technical specifications. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of our core platform while introducing modern development practices that enhance long-term maintainability. What you'll do
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues reported by enterprise clients through our support channels and internal ticketing systems.
Perform comprehensive code reviews of front-end and back-end changes to ensure architectural consistency, security standards, and performance benchmarks are met.
Design and implement scalable JavaScript applications that function reliably across a wide matrix of browsers, devices, and legacy enterprise environments.
Collaborate with product managers and data analysts to instrument and track key user interactions, using insights to drive iterative improvements to the user experience.
Optimize the performance of client-side rendering, focusing on reducing load times and minimizing main-thread blocking to ensure smooth interactions.
Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for internal components and external client integrations to facilitate knowledge transfer.
Lead scoping sessions with clients to understand technical constraints and define feasible implementation strategies that align with business objectives.
Implement automated testing strategies, including unit and integration tests, to increase confidence in deployment frequency and reduce regression risks.
Work closely with the sales engineering team to build compelling technical demonstrations that showcase the platform's capabilities to prospective clients.
Troubleshoot production incidents by analyzing logs, network requests, and application states to identify root causes and deploy effective patches.
Refactor legacy code modules to improve maintainability, readability, and execution efficiency without disrupting existing client implementations.
Partner with the design team to translate visual mockups into pixel-perfect, accessible, and responsive user interfaces that adhere to brand guidelines.
Requirements
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Must possess a minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience focusing on JavaScript and full-stack technologies.
Must demonstrate expert-level proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), including closures, promises, async/await, and functional programming patterns.
Must have a proven track record of building and maintaining complex single-page applications (SPAs) using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
Must show extensive experience with RESTful API integration, including request construction, error handling, and authentication protocols like OAuth.
Must be comfortable working with version control systems, specifically Git, including branching strategies, merge conflicts, and pull request workflows.
Must have a strong understanding of web performance metrics, including Core Web Vitals, and know how to optimize for them in production environments.
Must have experience writing and executing unit tests using frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or similar testing libraries to ensure code reliability.
Nice to have
Experience contributing to open-source JavaScript projects or publishing packages to npm that are used by external consumers.
Familiarity with content management systems and digital experience platforms commonly used in retail environments.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).
