This role offers the opportunity to operate at the intersection of high-stakes litigation and complex digital evidence within a nationally recognized AmLaw 100 firm. The Staff Attorney will own the end-to-end eDiscovery lifecycle for critical cases, ensuring that data strategies align precisely with case objectives. You will serve as a technical and analytical partner to litigation teams, driving efficiency and insight through advanced review of electronic information. What you'll do
Execute end-to-end eDiscovery workflows, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, and production of electronically stored information across diverse mass torts and class actions.
Lead the development and implementation of review strategies for large-scale litigation, utilizing technology-assisted review, analytics, and data visualization to optimize document production.
Conduct second-level document review focusing on responsiveness, privilege, confidentiality, and key factual issues to ensure defensibility and compliance.
Perform advanced responsiveness and privilege analysis, making critical decisions that directly impact case strategy and settlement discussions.
Manage complex search and analytical queries across massive datasets to isolate relevant evidence and support efficient case progression.
Prepare comprehensive fact summaries, case chronologies, and detailed analyses to inform motions, hearings, and trial strategy.
Support deposition and trial preparation by organizing and highlighting critical documents that influence witness examination and narrative development.
Draft and refine responses to discovery requests, including requests for production, confidentiality challenges, and redactions to protect client interests.
Create and maintain detailed privilege logs and conduct thorough reviews to safeguard attorney-client confidentiality throughout the litigation lifecycle.
Collaborate closely with case teams to refine review protocols, integrate feedback, and ensure alignment with litigation goals and deadlines.
Utilize leading eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, Everlaw, and Disco to streamline processes and enhance team productivity.
Monitor and manage multiple deadlines and assignments independently, demonstrating strong judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
Translate technical eDiscovery findings into clear, persuasive narratives that strengthen motions, hearings, and courtroom presentations.
Maintain strict compliance with firm standards and procedural rules while fostering innovation in litigation support methodologies.
Requirements
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and admission in good-standing with the State Bar are required for this position.
Candidates must possess a minimum of 2+ years of litigation experience specifically focused on eDiscovery, litigation support, or complex litigation matters.
Preferred candidates will bring experience in personal injury, product liability, and mass tort litigation, though those with medical malpractice or commercial litigation backgrounds will also be considered.
Proficiency with leading eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, Everlaw, Disco, or similar systems is mandatory for success in this role.
Familiarity with technology-assisted review, analytics tools, and data visualization techniques is essential to meet the demands of modern litigation.
Excellent communication skills are required to convey complex technical information clearly to legal teams and stakeholders.
Strong project management abilities are necessary to coordinate tasks, manage priorities, and meet firm standards under pressure.
