About the role
The hire will act as a central command hub for complex labor and employment litigation, owning the end-to-end lifecycle of cases from initial intake through final resolution. They will serve as the primary liaison between the legal team, clients, and external stakeholders, ensuring all interactions are managed with professionalism and precision. This role demands ownership of Korean language communications, acting as a critical bridge for understanding and accuracy with Korean-speaking witnesses and clients. The successful candidate will exercise judgment in managing sensitive documents and confidential information with the highest level of integrity. They will be responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of case files, ensuring that every piece of information is stored, retrieved, and tracked correctly. The hire will directly support strategic litigation decisions by providing thorough and timely legal research and analysis. They will own the preparation and organization of all exhibits and binders essential for trials and hearings. Ultimately, the role requires a proactive problem-solver who anticipates needs and streamlines workflows to enhance the efficiency of the entire litigation team.

What you'll do
- Orchestrate comprehensive litigation support for labor and employment cases, navigating every phase from pleading to trial with meticulous care.
- Engage in professional discourse with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel, ensuring clear and effective communication in Korean when necessary.
- Undertake the review, translation, and meticulous management of Korean-language documents, ensuring all correspondence and records are handled with accuracy.
- Execute the preparation, organization, and electronic filing of documents with federal and state courts and agencies, adhering strictly to PACER/ECF protocols.
- Provide specialized support for intricate employment matters, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and class and PAGA actions.
- Perform in-depth legal research and contribute to the drafting of pleadings, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and subpoenas with a high degree of accuracy.
- Finalize legal briefs through rigorous cite-checking, precise formatting, and the preparation of supporting exhibits to meet court standards.
- Oversee the management of case files, calendars, and litigation deadlines, ensuring unwavering compliance with all court rules and scheduling orders.
- Coordinate the collection, review, and production of documents, while maintaining detailed databases or spreadsheets to track discovery materials and employee records.
- Extend support on traditional labor matters, including proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) with specialized knowledge.
- Assist in the complex coordination of arbitration-related matters, including researching arbitration panels, arbitrators, and the applicable rules and procedures.
- Deliver support on trial, arbitration, and mediation preparation, managing witness binders, exhibits, and all logistical requirements.
- Execute specialized projects and other duties as assigned by senior attorneys and management.
- Ensure all case-related activities are conducted in strict compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate as foundational credentials for the role.
- Possess 5+ years of dedicated litigation paralegal experience, with a demonstrated focus on labor and employment law.
- Demonstrate Korean language proficiency in both written and verbal communication across legal contexts.
- Ability to communicate professionally in Korean in a business or legal environment is a mandatory skill for success.
- Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state court filing procedures and rules, including advanced navigation of PACER/ECF systems.
- Bring experience supporting employment-related discovery, including the handling of personnel files, payroll records, and electronically stored information.
- Exhibit strong research, drafting, and document management skills that ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Show excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities in a high-stress environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities without compromising quality.
- Meticulous attention to detail is essential, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team structure.
- Prior experience with class actions, PAGA matters, arbitration, and Excel proficiency is highly valued.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship for this position.
