About the role
Axios is on the lookout for a Director of Client Partnerships to enhance its New and Growth advertising division based on the East Coast. This role will concentrate on driving revenue growth by uncovering new business prospects while also nurturing existing partner relationships to ensure continued success.

What you'll do
- Serve as the primary representative of the Axios brand for the Client Partnerships team, establishing strong rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities by leveraging networking skills and creating avenues for collaboration with the Core Media team.
- Oversee strategic accounts, fostering strong relationships with agencies and brand partners to enhance the company's market presence.
- Work collaboratively with various departments, including the Axios Brand Studio and the events team, to ensure cohesive strategies and initiatives.
- Participate in regular travel to represent Axios at industry events and social gatherings, enhancing brand visibility and networking opportunities.
- Incorporate AI tools into daily operations to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify potential growth areas and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Prepare and present reports on sales performance, market insights, and partnership outcomes to senior management.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on industry developments and emerging technologies that can benefit the organization.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
- Drive initiatives that enhance client satisfaction and retention, ensuring long-term partnerships.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in sales, specifically within the digital media or news industries.
- A well-established network of contacts within major brands and advertising agencies.
- A demonstrated track record of success in outbound sales environments, showcasing the ability to drive results.
- In-depth knowledge of digital media, marketing technologies, and the competitive landscape relevant to Axios.
- Proven ability to balance the generation of new leads while managing existing client inquiries and accounts effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Practical notes
The base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $130,000, contingent upon the candidate's experience, location, and specific skill set. Total compensation will include variable pay based on achieving sales targets.
