Field Security Engineer
Job description
About the role
You will be the technical security voice that enterprise customers hear when they call Atlan. You own the conversations that de risk security reviews and shape how customers evaluate AI risk in their stacks. You translate complex agent behavior and context governance concerns into clear, accurate, and decisive responses under pressure. You build the systems that automate security evidence and make human review faster and more self-serve over time. You contribute directly to compliance programs that keep Atlan trustworthy at enterprise scale as the platform evolves. You will spend roughly half your week on direct customer security work and the other half building automation and artifacts. You help define what enterprise security looks like for AI in production, especially for regulated industries like financial services, healthcare, and payments.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Be the security expert enterprise customers trust, owning calls, architecture deep-dives, and security reviews with sophisticated security teams at Fortune 500 companies across financial services, healthcare, and payments.
- Lead AI security conversations credibly, covering agent behavior, MCP exposure, context governance, and ISO 42001 without needing a ramp period.
- Turn security reviews into an accelerator by owning the cases Vanta cannot handle, creating reusable artifacts that close reviews faster, and maintaining Atlan's public trust center to deflect repeat questions.
- Build automation that shrinks manual security work over time by designing and shipping AI agents that close gaps Vanta leaves and keep evidence continuously current.
- Contribute to Atlan's compliance program across SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, HIPAA, and GDPR by owning evidence collection, audit support, and continuous-compliance automation.
- Own the systems that make the security review process measurably lighter every quarter, with clear metrics on reduced onboarding time and fewer repeated manual steps.
- Provide accurate answers or commit to follow up under pressure when deals are on the line, ensuring customers receive timely and technically precise guidance.
- Work evening IST hours to overlap with US and EU customers as a real and necessary part of the role, not as an occasional exception.
- Design and implement AI agents end to end that replace manual work in compliance, triage, evidence collection, and questionnaire automation.
- Maintain and evolve Atlan's trust center content so it remains genuinely useful and supports smoother customer onboarding.
Requirements
- You have done customer-facing security work at a B2B SaaS company and can hold credible technical conversations with enterprise security teams without losing accuracy or composure when the deal is on the line.

- You understand AI and LLM security deeply enough to explain prompt injection, agent guardrails, MCP exposure, model and data risks, and where frameworks like ISO 42001 apply to customers.
- You identify the gap, build the fix, and close the loop without waiting for someone else to execute on a commitment you made on a call.
- You are comfortable working evening IST hours to overlap with US and EU customers as a required part of the role.
- You can handle sophisticated security teams in financial services, healthcare, and payments who ask difficult questions under time pressure.
- You are comfortable owning both customer interactions and the underlying systems that automate security evidence and reviews.
- You contribute to compliance programs that span SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, HIPAA, and GDPR through evidence, audit support, and automation.
