About the role
Astronomer is actively building its Financial Services sales division by seeking an Enterprise Account Executive to own the end to end acquisition of new business. The hired individual will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and converting large financial institutions into long term customers. This position requires the ownership of complex sales cycles from the initial discovery call through to the final contract signature. The role focuses on expanding the footprint within existing client portfolios to drive significant growth in account revenue. You will act as the primary strategic advisor to executive stakeholders during high value purchasing decisions. Success in this position is defined by the consistent exceeding of new business revenue targets and quotas. The position demands a high level of persistence and accountability to navigate lengthy enterprise procurement processes.

What you'll do
- Orchestrate the complete sales lifecycle for new enterprise clients within the financial services sector, ensuring alignment between discovery and closure.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of client business problems to architect tailored solutions that leverage Astro's platform capabilities.
- Utilize outbound prospecting techniques to identify and engage with key decision makers at target financial institutions.
- Translate complex technical data infrastructure concepts into clear business value propositions for non technical executive audiences.
- Develop and deliver high impact sales presentations and live product demonstrations that highlight competitive differentiation.
- Author comprehensive proposal documents that address specific customer requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Interface directly with internal sales engineering teams to conduct technical proof of concept sessions for skeptical buyers.
- Collaborate cross functionally with marketing departments to ensure all generated leads are nurtured and converted efficiently.
- Monitor the activities and messaging of primary competitors to adjust selling strategies and maintain market positioning.
- Manage detailed forecasting pipelines and provide accurate revenue predictions to senior leadership on a recurring basis.
- Partner with customer success managers to ensure seamless onboarding and implementation post sale transitions.
- Leverage social selling methodologies on professional platforms to build personal brand authority and thought leadership.
- Track all client interactions meticulously to ensure follow up tasks are executed without delay or error.
- Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts to increase customer lifetime value and drive net revenue retention.
Requirements
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years of cumulative sales experience in prior professional roles.
- Candidates must have at least 2 years of documented field experience involving face to face customer interactions.
- Proven history of selling SaaS, data platforms, or cloud solutions to financial services organizations is mandatory.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex enterprise sales cycles that involve technical selling to engineering teams.
- A consistent track record of surpassing new business quotas in fast paced and high growth environments is required.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills necessary for building trust with senior level c suite stakeholders.
- Must exhibit a proactive mindset with a strong sense of persistence and personal accountability for outcomes.
- High level of competence with CRM tools such as Salesforce and associated sales enablement platforms is essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid remote office environment.

Practical notes
- This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in either the Boston or New York City office.
- Some travel is required to meet with customers and team members.
- Compensation includes an estimated On-Target Earnings (OTE) range and an equity component; actual compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
