About the role
You will own the end-to-end strategy and execution for critical products that power the core of the insurance ecosystem at Assured. This role centers on modernizing claims processing, transforming it from a manual, error-prone operation into a scalable, data-driven engine for our largest insurance clients. You will architect the product vision for solutions ranging from self-service claim-filing interfaces to complex backend fraud detection systems. Success in this position means you thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment where technology, data, and design converge to solve high-stakes problems. You will be responsible for translating ambiguous customer needs into clear product requirements that drive developer execution and user delight. This is a leadership position where your decisions directly influence how billions of dollars in claims are processed and paid. You will partner closely with enterprise stakeholders to ensure our products deliver tangible business value and reinforce Assured's mission.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define and own the strategic roadmap for the claims processing suite, ensuring alignment with market needs and company objectives.
- Conduct discovery and synthesize insights from customers, sales, and implementation teams to identify opportunities for product innovation.
- Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into clear product specifications that engineering teams can execute against.
- Partner with engineering and design to build features that are not only scalable and reliable but also intuitive and delightful for users under stress.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators, using analytics to validate product impact and drive iterative improvements.
- Synthesize user feedback and behavioral data to prioritize the backlog and optimize the customer journey across digital touchpoints.
- Collaborate directly with enterprise customers to validate concepts, gather feedback, and ensure solutions solve real-world claims challenges.
- Work alongside leadership, including the CEO and CTO, to shape product direction and contribute to high-level business strategy discussions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies, assessing their potential to enhance Assured's software solutions and operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior product team members, fostering a culture of rigorous analysis, user empathy, and continuous learning within the organization.
Requirements
- You possess 8 or more years of professional experience in product management, with a track record of delivering complex software products.
- You hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, demonstrating a foundational knowledge of technology or business principles.
- You have direct experience owning product roadmaps and defining long-term strategy in a B2B enterprise software environment.
- You are comfortable navigating highly regulated industries and understand the critical nature of compliance and risk in insurance systems.
- You have a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influencing without direct authority to achieve shared goals.
- You demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, using data to inform decisions and measure the success of product initiatives.
- You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to simplify complexity for diverse audiences.
- You are technically literate, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and understand modern software development practices.
Nice to have
- Experience in the insurance or financial services sector, with familiarity with claims processing or fraud detection workflows.
- Background in data analytics tools and methodologies for measuring product performance.
- Knowledge of remote team management and asynchronous communication best practices.
