About the role
This role is a founding role within the product team at Assured, where you will own the definition and execution of analytics for our core insurance products. You will be responsible for establishing a robust reporting framework that provides visibility into product performance and user engagement. A significant portion of your work will involve analyzing complex claims data to uncover operational inefficiencies and customer pain points. You will translate ambiguous business questions into clear analytical strategies that guide product decisions. Your work will directly influence the product roadmap by highlighting opportunities for innovation and optimization. You will act as the primary data storyteller for leadership, ensuring that insights are accessible and actionable. Ultimately, you will build the analytical foundation that allows Assured to iterate quickly and confidently in a regulated industry.

What you'll do
- Investigate product performance metrics to uncover friction points and areas for optimization across the claims lifecycle.
- Construct and maintain a centralized dashboard that visualizes product health, enabling stakeholders to monitor key trends in real time.
- Design and execute A/B testing frameworks to quantify the impact of product changes on user behavior and business outcomes.
- Partner with engineering teams to define event schemas and instrumentation strategies that ensure high-quality data collection.
- Synthesize qualitative customer feedback and behavioral data to identify underlying needs and recommend specific product enhancements.
- Research competitor offerings and market dynamics to assess our positioning and uncover potential strategic advantages.
- Validate data integrity across pipelines by collaborating with data engineering to resolve discrepancies and ensure consistency.
- Execute ad hoc analyses to answer urgent business questions related to claims processing, fraud detection, and user onboarding.
- Develop predictive models and descriptive statistics to support hypothesis generation and scenario planning.
- Document analytical methodologies and definitions to ensure transparency and reproducibility across the product organization.
- Present findings to cross-functional stakeholders, bridging the gap between technical analysis and business strategy.
- Monitor industry trends in insurance technology to assess their potential impact on our product strategy and roadmap.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to analyze campaign performance and optimize customer acquisition and retention efforts.
- Establish data quality checks and governance practices to maintain trust in the insights produced by the product team.
Requirements
- You possess a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- You have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in product analytics or a closely related data role within the technology sector.
- You demonstrate expert-level proficiency in SQL for querying large datasets and performing complex joins and aggregations.
- You are highly proficient in Excel, using advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation techniques daily.
- You have substantial experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker to create interactive and intuitive dashboards.
- You have hands-on experience with statistical analysis tools, including R or Python, to perform regression analysis and data modeling.
- You have practical experience with at least one modern programming language, such as TypeScript or Python, for app development and instrumentation.
- You have successfully written code to integrate analytics SDKs like Mixpanel to capture user events and properties.
- You have a proven track record of analyzing customer behavior and feedback to derive actionable product recommendations.
- You exhibit extreme attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in every analysis you perform.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- You communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- You are a self-starter with strong ownership, capable of driving initiatives from conception to execution.
