About the role
The Tax Operations group within Operations supports the firm's tax aware strategies. You manage tax aware accounts from intake to deployment. Daily, you confirm data integrity and client accuracy. Teams collaborate across workflows to uphold institutional standards. You are responsible for ensuring that all tax aware account configurations are processed with precision and adhere to internal controls. The role requires you to act as a key liaison between operations, technology, and platform providers. You will own the end to end lifecycle of tax aware setups and transitions. Your work directly influences the reliability and compliance of investment operations.

What you'll do
Orchestrate the intake of new tax aware setups and validate onboarding fields for completeness and correctness. Build structured reporting logic to monitor account settings and transaction records for anomalies and compliance. Examine vendor outputs to assess compliance, configuration, and activity deviations. Analyze transition requests to verify funding alignment with product specifications and constraints. Confirm daily reconciliations so that account characteristics match custodian documentation precisely. Provide end to end oversight for Investment Management Agreements and transition pipelines to ensure timely progress. Coordinate with platform providers to maintain account health and exercise vendor oversight. Partner with technology teams to design low touch, streamlined operational workflows that improve efficiency. Monitor system generated alerts and drive investigations to resolve discrepancies in tax account data. Maintain detailed documentation of processes, decisions, and exceptions for audit and knowledge transfer. Execute periodic reviews of account settings to confirm adherence to product specifications and regulatory requirements. Escalate critical issues to senior stakeholders while coordinating remediation plans and tracking resolution. Support ad hoc requests from investment professionals related to tax reporting and account information. Ensure all operational activities are conducted in line with AQR's risk management and compliance frameworks.
Requirements
Earn a Bachelor undergraduate degree as this credential is mandatory for this position. Possess a minimum of one year or two years financial services experience in a regulated environment to understand institutional controls. Demonstrate comfort with numerical analysis and clear written communication to convey findings and instructions. Operate with meticulous organization and multitasking capacity while maintaining a rapid learning orientation. Show meticulous attention to detail across repetitive tasks and client deliverables to prevent errors. Demonstrate proficiency in Excel and Outlook because these tools are required for daily operations. You must be able to work within the specified location in Bengaluru for the duration of the engagement. Full time engagement requires consistent availability during standard business hours. This role may involve handling sensitive client and institutional data requiring strict confidentiality. You are expected to comply with all internal policies and regulatory guidelines governing operations. The successful candidate must be a team player capable of collaborating across cross functional groups.
Nice to have
Familiarity with the Salesforce platform is preferred for relationship and account tracking. Experience with Python scripting is advantageous for automating checks and analyses.
