About the role
Apptronik is seeking a Contract Technical Sourcer who will own the full lifecycle of talent acquisition for roles spanning hardware, software, and product functions. You will dynamically navigate across multiple technical disciplines to identify and engage high-caliber passive candidates who can thrive in a fast-paced robotics environment. This position requires you to translate complex role requirements into precise search strategies and compelling employer value propositions. You will act as the primary talent advisor and operational engine for the Mountain View, California office, owning the candidate experience from initial outreach through interview coordination. The role demands intellectual curiosity and the ability to rapidly master new technologies and sourcing methodologies. You will be instrumental in shaping a diverse talent pipeline that directly supports the commercial and mission-driven goals of bringing Apollo to market at scale.

What you'll do
Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to deeply understand technical requirements across diverse engineering domains, including Hardware (ME, EE, Embedded), Software, and Product roles.
Source qualified passive candidates using various channels, including LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, technical publications, and active networking within deep tech, software, and hardware communities.
Screen resumes and conduct initial vetting calls, accurately assessing candidates for technical baseline capability, alignment with role scope, and cultural add.
Act as the primary on-site Talent Acquisition representative and strategic partner for the Mountain View office. Collaborate closely with local site leadership and cross-functional interviewing teams to coordinate, host, and facilitate all CA-specific on-site interview loops.
Manage candidate pipelines and applicant tracking system (Greenhouse) data entry with a high degree of accuracy and compliance.
Provide regular, data-driven pipeline updates to hiring managers and the broader People team regarding talent market conditions across software, hardware, and product landscapes.
Conduct market mapping and competitive intelligence gathering to understand talent availability and compensation trends for specialized roles.
Own the end-to-end logistical planning for on-site interviews, ensuring all necessary resources, equipment, and candidate accommodations are prepared in advance.
Collaborate with People Operations to ensure adherence to employment policies and regulatory requirements specific to the California office.
Develop and maintain a proactive outreach strategy designed to build long-term relationships with potential candidates for future opportunities.
Serve as a subject matter expert on the local talent ecosystem, providing insights and recommendations to improve employer branding in the region.
Utilize creative sourcing techniques beyond standard job postings to uncover niche talent pools and hidden market opportunities.
Track and report on key sourcing metrics, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and candidate quality indicators.
Act as the central point of contact for all local hiring stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency across the interview process.
Demonstrate adaptability by shifting focus between urgent hiring needs and strategic talent pipeline development initiatives.
Requirements
Proven ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and fluently pivot between sourcing for software, hardware, and product management domains.
Strong interest and hands-on capability in unearthing niche talent using creative sourcing techniques beyond standard job postings.
Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships with local Mountain View site leadership, diverse interview teams, and candidates alike.
Outstanding organizational skills with a proven ability to manage real-time interview logistics, scheduling variables, and physical on-site hosting independently.
Comfortable operating as the lone recruiting footprint in a satellite office; self-motivated, proactive, and resilient through changing business and engineering priorities.
High proficiency with modern applicant tracking systems (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby) and sourcing discovery tools.

5+ years of technical sourcing or full-cycle recruiting experience in a fast-paced startup or high-growth technology environment.

Prior experience collaborating with local office stakeholders and running end-to-end interview coordination loops.
