QA / Test Engineer
Job description
QA / Test Engineer at Ansible Health.
About the role
You will own product quality end to end for our telehealth platform, ensuring every feature meets a high bar before it reaches patients. You will own the release process from code complete to safe production deployment, acting as the final gatekeeper for our users. In this hands-on capacity, you will design and execute risk-based test plans that cover patient-facing workflows, privacy-sensitive functionality, and high-impact production changes. You will run end-to-end tests across web and mobile applications, manage our bug backlog, and partner with engineering and product to prioritize what matters most. Additionally, you will develop and maintain automation, leverage tools including AI coding agents to scale your efforts, and drive toward faster, more frequent releases without compromising quality. You will perform mobile device testing on Android to catch device-specific issues, and you will triage, track, and close bugs to keep the pipeline healthy. Ultimately, you will build and maintain the automated tests that expand test coverage and speed up regression testing across the entire stack.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Run end-to-end tests on new features before release across our web and mobile applications to validate user flows and critical paths.
- Own the release process by testing staging builds, executing a final quality gate, and signing off on changes that are safe to ship.
- Develop risk-based test plans for critical telehealth workflows, including patient onboarding, scheduling, video visits, and privacy-sensitive functionality.
- Perform mobile device testing on Android, installing builds, reproducing issues, and verifying fixes on a range of device configurations.
- Triage, track, and manage bugs from detection through resolution, prioritizing severity and impact to keep the backlog under control.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to define test coverage, clarify requirements, and prioritize issues that affect release readiness.
- Build and maintain automated tests, including UI and integration tests, to expand coverage and reduce manual effort over time.
- Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex to write, refactor, and improve test automation scripts and infrastructure.
- Validate production changes by running smoke tests and regression suites in environments that mirror live conditions.
- Monitor test results and quality metrics to identify flaky tests, root causes, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to communicate risk, blockers, and quality status clearly and promptly.
- Drive quality initiatives independently while aligning with engineering practices to support faster, more frequent releases.
- Maintain documentation for test cases, test plans, and release checklists to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Support the transition to a continuous release cycle by creating reliable test pipelines and feedback loops for every build.
