What you'll do

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
• Conduct manual and automated testing to identify defects and ensure the functionality of software applications.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and provide feedback on product quality.
• Analyze test results, document findings, and communicate issues effectively to the development team.
• Participate in code reviews and provide input on best practices for quality assurance.
• Maintain and enhance existing automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Monitor and report on testing progress, and assist in prioritizing testing efforts based on project timelines and risks.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in quality assurance and testing methodologies.
• Assist in the development of testing tools and frameworks to streamline QA processes.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior QA team members, fostering a culture of quality within the team.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and team performance.
• Document QA processes and maintain accurate records of testing activities for compliance and audit purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience in performance testing and security testing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams.
• Certification in quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Previous experience in a startup or tech-focused environment.
