What you'll do
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including contracts, briefs, and pleadings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and provide insights on relevant laws and regulations affecting the pharmaceutical sector.
- Organize and maintain legal files and documentation, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and easily accessible for review.
- Review and summarize legal documents, highlighting key points and implications for the company's operations.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies to facilitate communication and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Manage deadlines for legal filings and ensure timely submission of documents to avoid penalties or delays.
- Assist in the preparation for litigation, including gathering evidence, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witness interviews.
- Participate in meetings with internal stakeholders to discuss legal matters and provide updates on ongoing cases and projects.
- Support the development and implementation of compliance programs to ensure adherence to industry regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and uphold the highest ethical standards in all legal matters.
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing travel arrangements.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company's operations and advise the legal team accordingly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a paralegal, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation processes.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance issues relevant to the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with case management software and document management systems is preferred.
Nice to have
- Certification from a recognized paralegal association (e.g., NALA, NFPA) is advantageous.
- Experience with contract negotiation and management in a corporate setting.
- Familiarity with intellectual property law and related issues in the pharmaceutical field.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language is a plus.
