What you'll do
- Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies to protect the organization's networks and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond promptly to security incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and maintain secure network architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident response plans to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide expert guidance and training to staff on best practices for cybersecurity and data protection, fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization.
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies, continuously enhancing the organization's security posture through research and development.
- Participate in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience in the event of a security breach.
- Engage with third-party vendors and partners to assess their security practices and ensure alignment with Ameripharma's security requirements.
- Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to effectively manage and resolve security breaches.
- Analyze security incidents to identify root causes and recommend improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare and present reports on security status, incidents, and compliance to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity and network security engineering.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Proficiency in network security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and incident response methodologies.
- Familiarity with cloud security principles and practices, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation of security tasks.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or GDPR.
- Familiarity with endpoint security solutions and mobile device management (MDM) practices.
- Experience in security architecture design and implementation for enterprise-level organizations.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or pharmaceutical environment is a plus.
