About the role

Aleph is seeking a commercial leader to scale our operations in the Hong Kong digital advertising market. You will manage our local presence, drive revenue growth, and represent our partnerships with major global platforms including TikTok, Amazon, and Google.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of experience in digital advertising, media, or commercial roles.
• 3-5 years of experience in a senior sales or business development capacity.
• Bachelor degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
• Proven history of managing or scaling a sales team.
• Established relationships with Hong Kong media agencies and direct clients.
• Demonstrated success in closing complex trading and commercial deals.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Hong Kong media landscape.
• Native or fluent Cantonese and strong English proficiency.
• Current residency in Hong Kong.

About the company

Aleph is the first letter of the Semitic abjads. The character appears in Phoenician, Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac, Arabic, and North Arabian scripts. It also exists in South Arabian and Ge'ez writing systems. These letters are believed to derive from an Egyptian hieroglyph depicting the head of an ox. The image represented the initial sound of the West Semitic word for ox. The Phoenician variant gave rise to the Greek alpha. That letter was reinterpreted to express a vowel rather than the glottal consonant. This development led to the Latin A and the Cyrillic А. It also possibly influenced the Armenian letter Ա. Phonetically, aleph originally represented the onset of a vowel at the glottis. In Semitic languages it functions as a prosthetic weak consonant. This allows roots with only two true consonants to conjugate like standard three consonant roots. In most Hebrew dialects and Syriac the aleph is an absence of a true consonant. It represents a glottal stop similar to the sound in uh-oh. In Arabic the alif represents the glottal stop when it appears as the initial letter of a word. Diacritical marks rarely indicate the consonantal pronunciation. Arabic uses hamza and Tiberian Hebrew uses mappiq for this purpose. In later Semitic languages aleph sometimes functions as a mater lectionis indicating a vowel elsewhere. This practice was well established by the late stage of Old Aramaic around 200 BCE. Aleph is often transliterated using the modifier letter right half ring based on the Greek spiritus lenis.
