Agoda is actively searching for a technical expert to join the Finance Operations Excellence team with a specific focus on VBA Automation. The successful candidate for this role will own the design, development, and deployment of automation solutions aimed at modernizing manual finance processes. What you'll do
Design, test, and deploy automation tools using VBA, Excel, SQL, MS Access, Power Automate, FloQast, and Power Apps to streamline finance operations.
Partner with finance teams to identify requirements for reconciliations, reporting, and validation workflows, ensuring solutions align with business needs.
Create data models and logic structures that are optimized for processing time, scalability, and auditability within financial systems.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, version histories, and detailed testing evidence for all automation projects.
Troubleshoot production issues and refactor existing automations to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability over time.
Develop and implement solutions for complex financial processes, ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather insights and translate business requirements into structured technical solutions for automation.
Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of automation projects, from initial discovery and design through to deployment and post-implementation review.
Support the integration of new tools and technologies, such as Power Automate and FloQast, into the existing financial technology landscape.
Champion best practices in coding, documentation, and testing to ensure all automated solutions are secure, efficient, and scalable.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and proactively suggest enhancements to existing automation frameworks and processes.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust library of automated tools that serve the long-term needs of the Finance Operations team.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members on automation strategies and implementation techniques.
Ensure all deliverables meet the high standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness required in a high-volume financial environment.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field as the foundational academic qualification.
- Possess 5+ years of dedicated experience in automation development or VBA/Excel engineering within a professional setting.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel, Macro/VBA, MS Access, and SQL as core technical competencies.
- Have hands-on experience with Power Automate, FloQast, and Power Apps to build and maintain integrated solutions.
- Show a strong ability to translate complex business requirements into structured, logical, and efficient technical solutions.
- Exhibit a meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in all aspects of solution design and implementation.
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills and the analytical mindset required to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Have the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic finance operations environment.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
