Product Lead, CDS
Job description
About the role
Abridge is on the lookout for a Product Lead to spearhead the development of its Clinical Decision Support (CDS) product. This pivotal position will involve setting the strategic direction for the product, enhancing the user experience within clinical workflows, and shaping the content and partnership strategies. Your mission will be to transition CDS from its initial access phase to a widely adopted solution across multiple platforms, ensuring it meets the needs of healthcare professionals.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for the CDS product, outlining its vision, prioritization of development tasks, and metrics to measure success, including both reactive clinician queries and proactive evidence delivery.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Science team to establish a robust content and evidence strategy, ensuring that the medical information derived from guidelines, journals, and reference materials is both accurate and reliable.
- Engage in extensive user research with clinicians, observing their interactions with existing products to pinpoint challenges and opportunities across various specialties and care settings, which will inform product enhancements.
- Work closely with engineering, design, and machine learning teams to deliver timely, dependable, and actionable guidance within clinical workflows, focusing on how this information is presented and when it is delivered.
- Ensure seamless integration with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, such as Epic, to embed CDS naturally into clinical workflows by leveraging patient chart context.
- Define and track key performance indicators related to product adoption, user engagement, and clinical quality/safety, utilizing data analytics to evaluate effectiveness and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Navigate complex scenarios by formulating hypotheses, conducting rapid testing, and adjusting strategies based on data-driven insights.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years in product management, with substantial experience in managing complex, high-impact, or AI-driven products. This role is intended for a senior individual contributor.
- Demonstrated success in launching new products and driving their adoption and revenue growth.
- Strong product judgment with a deep understanding of user needs, emphasizing practical workflows for clinicians rather than merely providing technically accurate information.
- Familiarity with clinical, scientific, or evidence-based content, maintaining a high standard of accuracy in areas where mistakes can have serious implications.
- Technical proficiency to engage in discussions about trade-offs with engineering and machine learning teams regarding quality, latency, reliability, and feasibility of solutions.
- Ability to make informed decisions regarding whether to build, buy, or partner for various solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to distill complex issues into understandable concepts and align the interests of clinical, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience in clinical, healthcare, or medical informatics, particularly in delivering products that integrate with EHR systems to enhance clinical workflows.
- A background in developing intelligent assistant-style products that can reason, retrieve information, and act across various tools.
