About the role
Abnormal AI is seeking a Senior Salesforce Administrator and Developer to manage and enhance our primary Salesforce environment. This position is responsible for the technical health, security, and integrity of the Salesforce platform, distinct from direct sales operations activities. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for platform configuration, access controls, and external integrations. They will develop custom solutions using the Salesforce ecosystem to maximize our investment in the platform. This role requires a balance of administrative oversight and development skills to ensure the platform runs smoothly and securely. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into system configurations and code. The goal is to ensure that Salesforce remains a robust, reliable, and secure foundation for our business processes.

What you'll do
- Oversee all aspects of Salesforce administration, including user access, roles, profiles, permission sets, and overall organizational security.
- Lead platform configuration, including custom objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, and automation using Flow.
- Develop custom solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, and SOQL to expand platform capabilities.
- Manage integrations with third-party tools and AppExchange packages, handling installation, updates, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and enforce Salesforce security best practices, such as single sign-on, IP restrictions, and least-privilege access.
- Manage the Salesforce release process, including sandbox management, deployment tools, and evaluating new platform features.
- Monitor platform performance and health, addressing issues like API limits and technical debt to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborate with IT, Security, and GRC teams to ensure Salesforce configurations align with compliance requirements like SOC2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and FedRAMP.
- Evaluate and integrate Salesforce's native AI features (Einstein, Agentforce) into the platform roadmap.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency in configuration, coding, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Salesforce configuration and development across the organization.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure that all development follows established standards and best practices.
- Design and implement data migration strategies to ensure data integrity and accuracy during transitions.
- Document all configurations, customizations, and processes to maintain clear system documentation.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Salesforce Administration and Development, with responsibility for a production environment featuring multiple integrations.
- Must hold a Salesforce Administrator certification.
- Proven ability to configure Salesforce using declarative tools (Flow, validation rules, permission sets, page layouts) and to write custom code (Apex triggers/classes, LWC, SOQL).
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security models, including roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, SSO/SCIM, and least-privilege principles.
- Experience managing third-party integrations and AppExchange packages, including installation, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- Experience with sandbox management, deployment tools (like change sets or CI/CD), and release management best practices.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools to enhance productivity and output quality in technical tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team in a fully remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Salesforce Platform App Builder or Platform Developer I certification.
- Experience supporting environments compliant with SOC2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP.
- Familiarity with MuleSoft or similar middleware for API integrations.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Practical notes
- Compensation range: $141,500 - $203,500 USD.
