What you'll do
- Orchestrate end-to-end migration initiatives for enterprise clients, managing timelines, scope, and quality benchmarks from initiation to closure.
- Architect technical solutions for enterprise email flow, specifying protocols such as SMTP, MX records, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and routing in hybrid and on-premise environments.
- Advise executive stakeholders on strategic replacement plans for legacy security features using native controls within Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Engineer and deploy anti-phishing policies tailored to client infrastructure, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
- Troubleshoot intricate post-migration email flow anomalies to guarantee message delivery integrity and system reliability.
- Liaise directly with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to iteratively refine deployment strategies and operational methodologies.
- Conduct proactive risk assessment throughout the migration lifecycle, designing and executing mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities.
- Facilitate educational training sessions for client teams, ensuring proficiency with new systems and reinforcement of security best practices.
- Author detailed documentation of migration workflows, configurations, and outcomes to promote institutional knowledge and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing concise status updates and resolving concerns with timely communication.
- Research and assimilate emerging industry trends and technological advancements to recommend cutting-edge solutions to client portfolios.
- Utilize diagnostic methodologies to isolate root causes of email delivery failures and performance degradation issues.
- Establish standardized playbooks for migration procedures that enhance team efficiency and ensure consistent client experiences.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of deployed security controls, recommending optimizations based on observed threat landscapes and client feedback.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity, which is required for this position.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in customer-facing roles focused on managing enterprise-level cybersecurity Software as a Service deployments or complex migrations.
- Accumulate at least 4 years of hands-on experience directing enterprise email flow integration and migration projects, including direct involvement in decommissioning legacy Secure Email Gateways.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive technical understanding of modern email architecture, including deep knowledge of routing through firewalls, proxies, mail relays, IP whitelisting configurations, and secure messaging connectors.
- Exhibit expertise in the security feature sets of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, specifically Defender for Office 365, Exchange Online Protection, Advanced Threat Protection, and Google Workspace Security functionalities.
- Show familiarity with core email security concepts such as filtering mechanisms, threat protection technologies, and data loss prevention strategies, including compliance implementation for SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR standards.
- Bring practical experience with AI-driven platforms and large language model tools, such as Glean and Claude, to assist in solution design and client communication.
- Maintain the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances or background checks as required for access to client environments.
- Commit to adhering to strict project management timelines and quality assurance standards under minimal supervision.
- Ensure alignment with Abnormal's internal code of conduct and ethical guidelines in all professional interactions.

Practical notes
- The salary range for this position is between $124,700 and $179,300 USD.
- Compensation includes a base salary, equity options, and eligibility for annual performance-based bonuses.
