About the role
This role is central to Abnormal AI's financial operations, transforming financial data into actionable insights that guide company decisions. You will be responsible for the annual financial plan, regular forecasting, and monthly reporting to the CFO. This position requires bridging FP&A, Accounting, and senior leadership, translating complex financial information into clear narratives. You will lead a small team of corporate finance analysts and drive improvements in planning and reporting processes, with an emphasis on AI integration. This role also contributes to the company's preparation for becoming a public entity.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the yearly operating plan and the ongoing forecast cycle for the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow, with a focus on revenue and free cash flow projections, utilizing driver-based models to enhance accuracy.
- Integrate scenario and sensitivity analysis into core FP&A functions to support executive decision-making.
- Oversee the monthly CFO review package, including variance analysis, forecast updates, and supporting data, collaborating with Accounting during the close process and contributing to Board and investor materials.
- Convert financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for leadership through regular reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses.
- Direct the team's use of Pigment systems and guide the implementation of AI-driven automation and process enhancements within FP&A.
- Support SOX compliance, audit committee presentations, and other initiatives related to public company readiness, working closely with Legal, Accounting, Investor Relations, and the CFO's office.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Tax, and People Operations on specialized forecasts, such as those for equity, payroll taxes, and employee benefits.
- Supervise and develop a team of corporate finance analysts, including providing coaching and career guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or CPA is beneficial.
- 6 to 9 years of progressive experience in FP&A or corporate finance, preferably in high-growth SaaS or cybersecurity companies, including experience managing or developing direct reports.
- Proven ability to improve forecast accuracy and build driver-based financial models from the ground up.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with modern FP&A tools such as Pigment, Snowflake, or comparable systems, with the ability to independently extract key insights from data.
- Solid understanding of the three main financial statements and key SaaS operating metrics, including gross margin, ARR, and contribution margin.
- Direct experience supporting public company readiness activities, such as SOX controls and preparing materials for audit committees or boards.
- Demonstrated capacity to transition between detailed financial analysis and high-level executive summaries, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A strong interest in AI tools and a history of leading automation or efficiency projects within finance departments.
Nice to have
- Experience with a company that has undergone an IPO or operated as a newly public entity.
- Familiarity with financial systems like NetSuite, Maxio, Workday, or Sigma.
- Experience using AI tools for forecasting or reporting, or with agentic workflows (e.g., Claude, Pigment AI Analyst).
- Previous experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, or equity research.
- Background in the cybersecurity or infrastructure software industry.

- Base salary range: $160,700 - $231,000 USD. Actual compensation will vary based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
