About the role
In this pivotal position, you will play a crucial role in bolstering sales initiatives by leveraging your extensive scientific and technical knowledge across the diverse product offerings of 10x Genomics. Your primary objective will be to facilitate quicker deal closures and enhance revenue generation within your assigned sales territory. As a subject matter expert, you will interact directly with customers, demonstrating the unique value propositions of our innovative solutions.

What you'll do
- Partner with sales teams to identify, cultivate, and successfully close sales opportunities, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
- Collaborate with various internal departments, such as product management and research and development, alongside external distributors, to develop effective market strategies and create compelling content.
- Monitor sales activities closely and contribute valuable insights to business forecasting efforts.
- Gather and disseminate market intelligence and competitor insights to both sales and product development teams.
- Deliver engaging presentations that highlight technical details and product functionalities at seminars, trade shows, and customer engagements.
- Meet and exceed sales objectives for your designated region by actively engaging with customers through multiple communication platforms.
- Provide training and educational resources to colleagues, distributors, and customers to enhance their understanding of our products.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, addressing their inquiries and providing solutions that meet their scientific needs.
- Participate in the development of marketing materials that effectively communicate the benefits of our products to potential customers.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology relevant to our offerings.
- Foster long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and loyalty to our brand.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations tailored to specific client requirements.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in a relevant scientific field is essential.
- Proven experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS), immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, oncology, or neuroscience, gained through academic or professional avenues.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to both small and large audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills, capable of establishing and maintaining professional connections both internally within the company and externally with clients.
- Fluency in both French and English is required for effective communication.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight trips, based on the demands of your territory.
- A valid driver's license, along with a reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance coverage, is necessary for travel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, is required for creating presentations and reports.
Nice to have
- A PhD in a relevant scientific discipline would be advantageous.
- A track record of success in sales and negotiation, demonstrating your ability to close deals effectively.
- Significant experience in commercial roles, including sales, marketing, or support within the life sciences sector, catering to academic, industrial, hospital, government, biotech, or biopharmaceutical clients.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with NGS technologies, enhancing your ability to engage with clients.
- Familiarity with single-cell and spatial genomics, which would be beneficial in addressing specific customer inquiries.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, particularly Salesforce, to manage client interactions effectively.
