Principal Product Manager - Payments at Zuora.
About the role
You will define the long-term vision and execution roadmap for our global payments platform, focusing on acceptance, coverage, and infrastructure. This senior individual contributor role requires deep technical expertise to lead complex integrations and scale payment capabilities for our enterprise customers. You will act as the primary subject matter expert, collaborating with engineering and leadership teams across the US, Beijing, and India to drive our global payment strategy.

What you'll do
- Own the multi-year product strategy for global payment acceptance and platform capabilities.
- Manage the full lifecycle of integrations with payment processors, acquirers, and orchestration partners.
- Design and launch global features such as new payment methods, digital wallets, and local schemes to improve authorization rates.
- Analyze processing data to identify and resolve transaction failures while enhancing system resiliency.
- Establish technical standards for APIs, reconciliation, error handling, and observability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic customers and partners regarding payment coverage and integration topics.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience within the payments industry.
- Proven track record of building and launching payment platforms or global features at scale in a previous role.
- Expertise in managing complex technical integrations, including mapping API specifications, tokenization, 3DS/SCA, and idempotency.
- Senior-level product management experience, including owning roadmaps and making trade-offs across platform and coverage initiatives.
- Ability to bridge technical requirements with business outcomes, collaborating effectively with architects and engineers.
- Experience using AI or ML to drive value in areas like automated reconciliation, forecasting, or churn analytics.
- Understanding of global market nuances, including regional regulations and data residency requirements.
Nice to have
- Background in recurring billing, subscription management, or usage-based business models.
- Familiarity with global regulations such as PSD2, SCA, and PCI-DSS.
- Previous experience as a solution architect or engineer in the payments sector.
- Knowledge of payment orchestration platforms and multi-processor routing strategies.

- Base pay range starts at $185,400. Final salary is determined by experience, skills, and location.
