Senior Software Systems Engineer

About the role

You will build the evaluation frameworks and metrics necessary to verify the fidelity of our GenAI-driven simulation platform. Your work ensures our virtual environments accurately mirror real-world sensor data and agent behavior to support autonomous vehicle deployment.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Create and deploy metrics to track the performance of virtual sensors, dynamic agents, and simulated surroundings.
• Build evaluation strategies and integrate them into high-volume data pipelines, including dataset mining.
• Author technical design documents and manage execution while identifying and communicating project risks.
• Coordinate with Safety, Autonomy, and Simulation groups to establish standardized validation methods.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in autonomous robotics, sensor data analysis, or quantitative evaluation.
• Expertise in Python and data analysis libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SQL.
• Ability to perform data visualization and apply statistical concepts like hypothesis testing and probability distributions.
• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong communication abilities and a proactive approach to resolving ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Background working with autonomous vehicle stacks, specifically in planning, perception, or prediction.
• Experience constructing large-scale evaluation systems.
• Advanced statistical knowledge, including p-values and confidence intervals.
