IT Operations Manager

About the role

ZipRecruiter is seeking an IT Operations Manager to lead a support team serving over 800 hybrid employees across two office locations. You will oversee hardware provisioning, software management, and technical education while driving the adoption of modern workplace tools and AI-integrated solutions.

What you'll do

• Supervise and mentor a distributed team of four IT Support technicians.
• Maintain a regular in-person presence with executives to identify and resolve operational gaps.
• Partner with the People Development team to refine employee onboarding and offboarding workflows.
• Manage Jira workspaces and ticketing systems to track projects and ensure SLA compliance.
• Oversee the full asset lifecycle, including procurement, hardware inventory, and e-waste management.
• Travel 10 to 15 percent of the time to assist with office tech setups and sales collaboration events.
• Develop and maintain internal documentation, SOPs, and self-service training resources.
• Handle secondary tasks such as office relocation support, contractor management, and overflow technical support.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of technical support experience and 2 years of people management.
• Proficiency in both Windows and macOS troubleshooting.
• Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Okta, Active Directory, and user access management.
• Ability to maintain and support Zoom Rooms and audiovisual systems.
• Background in vendor management, contract negotiation, and IT procurement.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to provide both remote and onsite support.

Nice to have

• Experience with networking, including DNS, wireless infrastructure, and home office connectivity.
• Familiarity with SaaS administration, license management, and authentication.
• Experience managing contractors.
• Interest in emerging technologies, open source, and industry trends.
