Analytics Intern

About the role

This internship focuses on improving Zello's data analytics for the go-to-market team. You will enhance existing dashboards and create new data tools, ensuring they are accurate and easy for non-technical users to understand. This is a hands-on position where you will take ownership of key data surfaces, supported by the Data & AI team.

What you'll do

• Redesign and accelerate dashboards within Omni, Zello's business intelligence platform.
• Develop Omni topics that empower non-technical colleagues to independently answer their data questions.
• Write SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, validate, and reconcile data, and interpret dbt models.
• Manage small analytical projects from initial question to actionable recommendation.
• Document new creations and audit existing reports, recommending whether to keep, combine, or remove them.
• Utilize AI tools, including Claude, to streamline routine tasks, always verifying outputs.
• Present your findings in team meetings and flag any inconsistencies in data.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate academic program.
• Able to work approximately 20 hours per week on-site in Austin through early December.
• Proficient in writing SQL queries, including joins and aggregations, and debugging query results.
• Capable of explaining complex data concepts to non-technical individuals and tracing data origins.
• Meticulous in checking your own work for accuracy before submission.
• Has independently expanded a project beyond its initial scope, demonstrating initiative.
• Produces thorough documentation for others to easily continue your work.
• Experienced with using AI tools for practical tasks and verifying their results.
