What you'll do
- Extend and maintain our mature WebdriverIO automation framework using a component-based Page Object pattern.
- Write and execute automated tests across web and React Native mobile applications (iOS and Android) using WebdriverIO and cloud-based device testing platforms.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing to validate critical user journeys.
- Integrate automated testing into our CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable, and secure releases.
- Debug issues, analyze results, and provide actionable insights to improve product stability and user experience.
- Partner with developers to define effective test strategies for new and existing features, ensuring alignment on quality goals.
- Champion best practices in test automation, including scalability, reliability, maintainability, and code review standards.
- Contribute to sprint planning, stand-ups, and grooming sessions to ensure strong test coverage and risk mitigation.
- Create and maintain clear test plans, test cases, and reporting documentation that communicate quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Promote quality, automation, and testability throughout the software development lifecycle, influencing process improvements.
- Collaborate across multiple development pods, balancing priorities and maintaining quality standards simultaneously under fast delivery pressures.
- Support shift-left testing practices to catch issues earlier and reduce downstream risk, improving team efficiency.
- Leverage cloud-based device testing platforms to execute tests on real mobile hardware and operating system combinations.
- Validate performance, accessibility, and security-related quality attributes through coordinated testing efforts.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in QA automation or software development, with a track record of delivering quality outcomes in complex products.
- Strong hands-on experience with WebdriverIO, using a component-based architecture or Page Object patterns, or equivalent depth in Playwright with the ability to ramp up quickly on WDIO.
- Experience with integration testing and Node.js-based test frameworks, including writing and maintaining test suites in a Node environment.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, with practical experience working within Node.js-based frameworks and tooling.
- Experience testing React Native applications (iOS and Android) using WebdriverIO or Playwright and cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack or similar.
- Experience running and monitoring automated tests within CI/CD pipelines, including interpreting logs and diagnosing test failures.
- Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Mocha, Supertest, Postman, or similar, to validate service layer behavior.
- Strong understanding of databases and SQL, including writing queries to inspect data and verify test state.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, Jira, and Agile development practices, including working in iterative delivery cycles.
- A sharp eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset focused on shared outcomes.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and adapt to new tools, frameworks, and testing methodologies as the product evolves.
