Polyglot Engineer (JS/Python/Go)

YLD is a remote-first consultancy seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our client-facing teams. You will design and build scalable, fault-tolerant systems while mentoring colleagues and driving engineering standards.

What you'll do

• Develop new product features to meet client requirements.
• Implement CI/CD models to ensure continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with team members and leads to architect high-availability, zero-downtime solutions.
• Manage production operations and monitoring to meet service level agreements.
• Mentor junior engineers to support their professional development.
• Present project progress and technical work during company show and tells.

Requirements

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Go, with a willingness to learn new languages.
• Experience with modern frameworks such as FastAPI, Gin, or Express.
• Production knowledge of React, responsive design, accessibility standards, and state management.
• Expertise in system design, load balancing, and high-availability architectures.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL database design and optimization.
• API development skills covering REST, GraphQL, and gRPC.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, message queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka, and caching via Redis.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Ability to debug production issues and use AI tools to improve engineering output.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
