About the role
You will architect and manage the containerized infrastructure that powers our federal mission-critical applications on AWS. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that code moves from development to production with zero downtime and maximum reliability. You will implement and enforce Configuration Management standards that keep our environments consistent, secure, and auditable. You will collaborate closely with software developers to automate testing and deployment workflows, bridging the gap between development and operations teams. You will monitor system performance and automate responses to incidents, maintaining high availability for our customers. You will contribute to the design of Big Data solution architectures, ensuring data pipelines are scalable and resilient. You will mentor junior engineers on best practices for infrastructure as code and automation. You will be the primary on-call resource for infrastructure-related issues, driving rapid resolution and continuous improvement.

What you'll do
Design and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles to support our federal customer deployments.
Implement and optimize Kubernetes clusters and Container Orchestration strategies to ensure efficient resource utilization and scalability.
Develop and refine Configuration Management processes using tools like Ansible or similar platforms to standardize server builds.
Automate CI/CD pipelines to reduce manual errors and accelerate the delivery of software updates to production.
Write and maintain Bash scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Program application logic and integrations in Python to support automation and data processing requirements.
Analyze and troubleshoot Big Data solution workflows to identify bottlenecks and improve pipeline performance.
Monitor system health and set up alerting mechanisms to proactively address potential service disruptions.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure all infrastructure components comply with federal security standards.
Document all infrastructure changes and procedures to maintain clear audit trails and knowledge transfer.
Lead troubleshooting efforts during outages, coordinating with development and security teams to resolve issues quickly.
Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance the capabilities of our existing DevOps toolchain.
Support the deployment of containerized applications in a secure and compliant manner for government environments.
Guide the implementation of best practices for reliability, performance, and cost optimization in cloud environments.
Requirements
United States Citizenship is mandatory due to federal contract requirements.
Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph is required for this position.
You must possess a strong working knowledge of Kubernetes and Container Orchestration platforms.
You must have hands-on experience with Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
You must have a proven background in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and Automation frameworks.
You must have extensive experience with AWS cloud services and Linux systems administration.
You must demonstrate advanced scripting abilities in Bash for automation and system administration tasks.
You must have professional Programming experience in Python for building tools and automating workflows.
You must have a background in Big Data solutions and distributed processing concepts.
You must be able to work onsite at the Fort Meade, Maryland location during regular business hours.
You must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment.
You must have excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You must have a demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of reliability and security.

Experience with federal government IT environments and compliance frameworks.

This role requires onsite presence at the Fort Meade, Maryland location.
The position is offered as a Full-Time engagement.
