What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to ensure the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications for ETL workflows.
- Optimize existing ETL processes for performance and scalability, ensuring that data is processed in a timely manner to meet business needs.
- Implement data integration solutions that connect disparate systems and facilitate data sharing across the organization.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processes, identifying and resolving issues to maintain data integrity and availability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for ETL processes, data flows, and integration solutions to support knowledge sharing and onboarding.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and integration, applying new knowledge to improve our processes and tools.
- Work closely with the DevOps team to automate deployment processes and enhance the overall efficiency of our data pipelines.
- Assist in the design and implementation of data governance policies to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, providing input on how to enhance our data architecture and integration strategies.
- Foster a collaborative environment by sharing knowledge and providing mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in software development with a focus on ETL processes and data integration.
- Proficiency in ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, or Informatica, along with experience in SQL and database management systems.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in relation to data storage and processing services.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies, including dimensional modeling and OLAP systems.
- Knowledge of data quality and data governance principles, with a keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude toward learning new technologies and methodologies in the field of data engineering.
Nice to have
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application in data processing.
