About the role
Wonderschool is building a platform to improve early childhood education access by supporting childcare providers and parents. We are looking for a senior engineer to manage our payments infrastructure, which currently handles over $3 billion in transactions.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Refactor and unify our existing payments architecture by consolidating various legacy integrations.
- Manage the orchestration and reconciliation of our financial data across third-party fintech partners.
- Build and maintain connections to banking systems, debit card processors, Stripe, SAP, payroll providers, and partner advances.
- Prioritize accuracy and reliability in all code, as financial transactions require strict precision.
- Collaborate directly with customers to identify edge cases and resolve real-world system failures.
- Work alongside the product team to ship, test, and refine features.
- Ensure all financial systems remain compliant with relevant industry regulations.
Requirements
- Senior-level engineering experience with a focus on payment systems and complex financial integrations.
- Ability to work in the San Francisco office 5-6 days a week in close coordination with the CEO.
- High level of precision and attention to detail.
- Experience navigating the regulatory requirements of banking, cards, and payments.
- Proficiency in using AI tools to solve problems independently.
- Ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced team environment.
