About the role
You will join the Group & FinCrime Compliance Monitoring and Testing team to manage programs that safeguard Wise and its users from financial crime. This role involves coordinating with internal teams to evaluate controls, report on risk, and ensure global regulatory alignment.

What you'll do
- Partner with the Group & FinCrime CMT Lead to build and carry out annual review schedules.
- Prepare reports for management and the board regarding risk trends and compliance findings.
- Oversee end-to-end control reviews and validate the resolution of identified issues.
- Train first-line teams on remediation strategies to ensure effective action closure.
- Direct monitoring efforts by collaborating with data analysts to develop dashboards and extract insights.
- Design and update test scripts to maintain consistency across global regions.
- Improve operational efficiency by identifying ways to reduce redundant testing processes.
- Engage with stakeholders across Operations, Product, Compliance, and Internal Audit to align on business and regulatory goals.
- Mentor junior staff on testing methodologies and quality standards.
Requirements
- Over 8 years of experience leading assurance reviews or issue validation within Audit, Risk, Financial Crime, or Compliance.
- Bachelor degree in finance, law, or a related discipline.
- Deep understanding of risk assessment frameworks, testing methodologies, and financial crime regulations, specifically UK and global standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead compliance reviews across multiple international jurisdictions.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills for senior-level stakeholder engagement.

- Experience working within the fintech or payments sector.
- Professional certifications such as ICA or ACAMS.

Practical notes
- You must be based in London and willing to travel internationally approximately once per quarter.
