About the role

You will direct the People Technology Growth team to build and maintain the digital systems supporting the entire employee lifecycle. This role involves transitioning internal tools from basic SaaS configurations into a cohesive, engineering-driven platform that improves the experience for thousands of global staff.

What you'll do

• Define and execute the technical roadmap while managing security, scalability, and reliability requirements.
• Oversee the transition from reactive ticket-based IT support to a proactive, product-oriented engineering model.
• Manage a distributed team of engineers ranging from IC1 to IC3 levels, focusing on career development, performance, and well-being.
• Implement standardized development workflows using Jira Product Discovery and Jira Software with bi-weekly agile sprints.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align technical capabilities with broader product goals.
• Lead hiring efforts and onboarding processes to maintain team balance and performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in engineering leadership, including coaching, performance management, and team building.
• Background in the HR Tech ecosystem or employee experience platforms, such as recruitment, onboarding, or core HRIS systems.
• Technical expertise in architectural decision-making, including API integrations, data mapping, and workflow automation.
• Ability to manage and align a globally distributed team across different time zones.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on egoless collaboration and structured execution.

Nice to have

• Experience transforming traditional IT service processes into automated, self-service platform products.
• Deep understanding of agile development methodologies.
• History of working within fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

Practical notes

• Starting salary: 105,000 - 135,000 GBP plus RSUs.
