Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are hiring a senior engineer to lead data architecture within our Scalable Growth team. You will report to the Scalable Growth Engineering Lead while working closely with the Marketing Platform team to build reliable, high-volume data systems.

What you'll do

• Audit and improve existing data pipelines and streaming architectures to ensure reliability and scale.
• Develop and maintain production-grade workflows using Airflow and dbt to support our Customer Data Platform.
• Define standards for data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation in collaboration with analytics leads.
• Take technical ownership of MarTech infrastructure, including integrations with tools like Braze and HighTouch.
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear technical roadmaps and architectural designs.
• Provide mentorship and code reviews to software engineers to improve team data capabilities.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Python.
• Proven experience deploying and maintaining Big Data systems, including Kafka, Trino, and Iceberg.
• Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and Airflow for orchestration.
• Demonstrated ability to design fault-tolerant data architectures and quality frameworks.
• Experience scoping complex projects and driving them from discovery to completion.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to marketing and analytics stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Prior work with MarTech tools, reverse ETL, or vendor API integrations.
• Familiarity with integrating AI and machine learning data.
• Experience working in fintech or high-growth technology companies.
